ENCOUNTERING GOD

Engaging in authentic connection with God through blended worship and biblical preaching.

CURRENT MESSAGE SERIES

A YEAR IN THE BIBLE: The Lord led us to try something a bit different for our preaching schedule. Together as a church, we’re following the Bible Project Reading Plan — One Story that Leads to Jesus. Therefore, each Sunday the message will focus on a portion of scripture from the current week’s reading. One year through the entire bible!

JOIN THE TEAM

Are you gifted at singing or playing an instrument? Not good at either, but have a passion for technology and sound, or would be epic at sound mixing, cameras, live stream, and media? Or have an artistic side that enables ideas for engaging worship experiences from any sensory or creative approach? Let us know! We would love for you to join our team of volunteers.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT THIS WEEKEND?

We are so excited to worship with your family this weekend! We know you have so many questions and want to make every visit painless. Here are several questions are asked routinely:

WHERE DO I PARK?

We have two convenient parking lots off 7th street, and 1 lot off Q street. If you require handicapped assistance, please use our parking lot east of our main building.

WHAT IS AUTHENTIC WORSHIP?

Authentic worship is pursuing a relationship and doing life with Jesus. We bring our whole selves every Sunday morning and we expect Him to meet us with His whole self. Weekly, we engage in a variety of songs that allow us to tell God we are imperfect and respond to Him by resting in who He says we are. Every week we expect to encounter God differently than the week before as we pursue a deeper relationship with him and our community in unity. We encounter God and His Spirit as we are, but we become what we aren’t.

WHAT KIND OF MUSIC?

At both services, we do a variety of unified music including: hymns, praises, laments, special music, choir music, children’s music, youth music, and contemporary worship songs. All music types blend in both services on a Sunday morning. We have a heart to utilize people’s gifts in the Bedford Free Methodist Church for the Glory of God, and we do this by having a weekly band of at least five people serving on a variety of instruments and serving with their voices.

HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?

Most people participate by singing—others by lifting of hands, praying audibly or quietly, focusing the mind on Jesus, crying, and laughing. We fully believe in freedom in worship, allowing the spirit to lead us in mind, heart, and soul in a way that is true to ourselves. We not only worship on Sunday mornings, but throughout our weeks as well in Holy living. Check out our worship playlist and resources below.

WHERE DO I ENTER?

We have three convenient entrances at which you will be greeted with an open door and a smile. We have a handicap entrance with elevator off the alley at the bottom of the ramp.

HOW LONG IS THE SERVICE?

Each service last about an hour.

WHAT DO I WEAR?

Please come as you are. At BFMC you will find people dressed in all array of clothing styles.

HOW DO I VOLUNTEER?

We love to empower people to use their gifts. You can serve in a variety of areas on the band, in the audio-visual booth, in the lighting booth, in the streaming booth, or at the sound booth. Please email Pastor Caleb with your interest - caleb@bedfordfreemethodist.org
